Karissa is such a doll! I have known her and her family for a while and watching her grow up to be a beautiful young women gets me all choked up because time sure does fly by. This future psychologist has a golden heart, a darling smile, and a good eye for fashion. Congratulations Karissa on your Graduation!
In 2006 my husband bought me my first Canon SLR as an anniversary present. The only SLRs out there at that time were film and thankfully my art and photography classes came in handy when I wanted to develop my own film. But man was it challenging! Now, we’ve got amazing photo labs that do that all for you. AMEN! So I brushed off the dust and found old film in the ancient camera bag that screamed “she’s a photographer” and started shooting.
What I love and will always appreciate about film is the idea of “one shot, one kill” because as a photographer, you have to get all your settings right and pray to the film gods that it’s right. Plus as an artist, the beauty of film is there’s a natural texture that digital cannot replace unless you spend hours editing. But who wants that?! I’d rather live and capture life.

This adorable vintage hot air balloon party was crafted to the details. Laura, from Lala Sweets and her husband Tim Vanderhook put together a colorful and darling 1st birthday for their little Stella that included a french fry bar, kids food bar, and an amazing salad bar where guests got to choose their own toppings and have it shaken into a stunning dish. So lovely! Not only was the food eye-catching, the dessert table was GORGEOUS! Laura did an amazing job!
